Some Progress!

For those of you who have been keeping up, I have been working with some mother of pearl beads & semi-precious beads as I feel I need to work with them more. I had a layout for about 15 earrings, 3 different designs, just tweeked in different colors and shapes.
I did hit a snag, however when creating some of these earrings. While I enjoy using copper wire, it’s so hard to find copper ear wires as everyone likes antiqued copper and only get bare copper to dip it in liver of sulfur to make it ‘antiqued.’
SO….I did this:
I ended up making these ear wires as I don’t have any copper ear wires and I didn’t want to cop out and do the antique thing. Currently, I have some copper ear wires from fire mountain in my shopping cart, waiting to buy.
The picture to the left is one design while the picture to the bottom is another. Both designs are featured in different colors, with a third design pending as I haven’t started on them yet.
I have some more news to discuss, but I’ll do it in a separate entry. Thanks guys!!

Been designing some earrings

I’ve been working a lot with my mother of pearl mediums cause I have quite a lot of shells and beads and I want to use them out. I’ve basically outlined 15 earrings that I want to complete and just have them as a mother of pearl collection. I’ve been thinking of making another ‘Mermaid’s Tail’ necklace, but I’m not sure if I really want to do that anymore.

Aside from that, I’ve been cruising YOUTUBE in the last couple of weeks, looking for tutorials to better my wire-wrapping technique and I stumbled upon these tutorials for jewelry storage! I posted this one because of the colors, but I’ve found others for earrings which are really simple and it’s given me ideas for creating other similar jewelry storage containers myself!

I’m filled with ideas now, which is great. And I couldn’t have stumbled on this at a better time because now that I’m creating tons more, my storage containers are getting pretty full and I need somewhere to put these concoctions!

Taking Inventory

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been staying up ’til 4 in the morning, mainly watching television BUT also working on some jewelry pieces. I find that I can get my creative juices flowing between the hours of around 9:00PM and 1:00AM and I can knock out a few pieces or at least get a few new designs out. Here’s a look at what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. Some of these are repeat pictures:

If you can’t tell, the first set of pictures are bracelets, the second set are earrings and the third set of photos are necklaces. I’ve created a couple new necklaces, including matching necklaces to the graduated colored chips bracelet/earrings & a new charm necklace.

I’ve got about 4 more necklaces laid out to work on & a list of other creations to work on. *le sigh*
